Ian's Mercedes Vito Van Conversion
In a break from converting VDubs we had a Mercedes Vito in this week for a full interior kit-out.
We began by stripping out the old lining and preparing the van floor, treating any issues and giving it a good clean up. Next up we installed new floor insulation and ply lining, wall insulation and carpet lining - making sure we'd got slots in place to run the electric wiring and install switches, sockets and lights. Once the floor panels and new Altro floor lining was in it was on to the units and furniture.
For sleeping duties we installed a Smartbeds rock & roll bed, upholstered to match the front seats. Taking care of heating for those cold winter months (and some in summer!) we fitted an MV Airo 2 diesel heater, which runs very quietly and uses very little fuel.
For the electrics we fitted a leisure battery, heavy duty split charge, various charge points for devices and appliances and usb sockets. Completing the look, for workspace and storage, a bespoke side unit with folding table and bed board in puntinella with gloss black tops was fitted.
