140 Highline T5 Conversion
This classy looking VW 140 Highline T5 came to us as a fresh panel van in a great Blackberry colour paint job. The Highline is from the luxury end of the Volkswagen range and it shows in the details and options included on this head turner.
Whilst we set about preparing the load bay with insulation, upholstery and the necessary electrical wiring, the front seats were removed and the driver's seat re-trimmed with a stylish and hard-wearing black and grey leatherette. For continuity, and to achieve a high level of finish, the new SmartBed's rock and roll bed was given the same treatment.
Once re-upholstered the driver's seat went back in alongside a newly installed twin captain's chair in place of the single passenger seat - all trimmed to match, of course!
With the front seats installed and the new SmartBed Evolution ready to go in to the freshly-lined van it was time to install the kitchen, appliances and units. A suitably subtle and classy charcoal carbon-fibre-like panelling was chosen to finish the interior in, with loads of storage space for pots and pans as well as clothing and kit.
Finishing off wiring the electrical points, switches and power meter we then added a Waeco fridge and Smev dual gas hob/sink unit, before finally getting the new rock n roll bed into place.
