Dan's Late T5 Highline Camper Conversion

Dan's stunning late VW T5 Highline started life as a panel van and thanks to some graft and SJ Campers magic, it's now a full camper, with custom upholstery!

As always, the first job was to prepare the van for conversion - removing interior lining and paneling and adding in insulation, new panels, 4-way stretch wall and ceiling carpet and a new hard-wearing Altro floor.

This new Vdub conversion features some beautiful customised upholstery, both for the cab seats in the front and for the Smart Beds rock and roll bed in the back. Dan opted for a black and blue combo to match the stunning blue paint of the van's bodywork.

But it doesn't stop there! On the sides of the van we installed a full set of tinted, sliding and non-sliding windows to give it that real camper van look, and up top a rear hinged SCA roof conversion, to make standing up in the van all that much easier - a true camper!

To complete the interior Dan opted for a Smart Beds Evolution 2 rock and roll bed as well as kitchen storage units, wardrobe unit and the much needed sink and hob. A Waeco fridge completed the kitchen duties - so now a brew is never far away.

Converting a panel van into a fully fledged camper is a great money saving way to build your dream home-from-home, and a conversion will always add value to an otherwise standard van. What's more, well looked after camper vans hold their value very, very well - especially VW vans - so even if you decide it's not getting the use it deserves in the future, it will still more often than not make you money! What's not to like?

VW T5 LWB Factory High Top Conversion

That's our first LWB factory hightop, what an awesome van...

Lined out in our usual style with anthracite 4-way stretch cloth for the walls and a smoke coloured ceiling - complete with black Altro floor for a tough, non-slip finish.

A Smartbeds rock and roll bed has gone in to take care of sleeping duties, while walnut and puntinella Evomotion units with tambour sliding doors and custom built overhead lockers makes sure there's loads of storage. A Weaco 12v fridge and Can FL hob/sink unit take care of the kitchen appliances, meaning that this high top LWB is ready for any adventure it can be thrown at (or driven towards!).

A heavy duty split charge and leisure battery has gone in under the swivel-based 'captain's' passenger chair, connected up to a Sargent 12v electrics unit with 240v hook up.  USB charge points and LED lights finish the electrical duties and offer some future proof charging options.

To keep warm in the chilly months (that's most of them then!) an Mv Airo2 blown air diesel heater with digital 24hr timer has been installed.

We think a long wheel base high top van is a great option for a home away from home - there's just so much space! We can't wait to hear back from the owners once it's been out on some adventures.

Anna & John's Fiat Scudo Conversion

Anna and John's little Fiat Scudo came to us straight from the dealership for a simple day van conversion, before his new owners had even seen him.

Into the Scudo went a full-width Smartbeds rock and roll bed with upholstery to match the front seats. The walls and ceiling were lined out and insulated, with an new Altro lining taking care of the floor.

For storage we built a custom under-bed draw and seat back table, with custom storage in the back behind the Smart Bed with space for a wheelchair to fold up into, making getting away quick and easy.

To round off the conversion we installed a leisure battery and split charge to take care of power requirements, an MV Airo2 blown air heater, LED lights and 12v charge points for all of the essential devices!

Looks like a great little van ready for some camping adventures!
