James and Danni's van came to us as a bare panel van and left the workshop as a lovely 2 birth camper.

As always we began by removing the existing panel van interior ply and bulkhead, then cutting out the window apertures ready for some new side and rear door tinted glass. Next it was time to carpet line and insulate the back of the van before adding in a new floor in the shape of black sparkle Altro flooring complete with a new side step and rear footplate trims.

Once the main body of the van was prepared it was time to install the fancy bits!

A 12v and 240v electric hook up point went in to provide camp site power via the Sargent ec155 unit. For sleeping duties a SmartBeds 3/4 rock and roll bed with upholstery matched to the upgraded front seats was installed.

Evo Designs single height units with loads of storage and worktop space provide the kitchen and van with plenty of storage, and a Smev 9222 hob/sink unit and Weaco CRX 12v 50 litre fridge do the duties for the kitchen.

We hope that James and Danni have an amazing time in their new campervan - we had a great time building it!

SmartBeds have finally made available the M1 pull tested Evolution 2 complete with rail system. This enables the seat to slide up to the front for travelling then be slid to the rear for pulling out into a 6ft long bed.

This is a great solution for campers looking to make the most out of their vans by allowing the seats to be used in a more sociable position closer behind the front seats - if there are children in the van, for example - but also allows the use of the van as a camper thanks to the unique design of this rock and roll bed on rails.

The Smart Bed Evolution 2 rail system is pull tested and is completely manufactured in the UK.

This very tidy early VW T5 came in for some tidying up this week. It was treated to some new tinted side and rear windows, insulation, carpet line, and a brand new floor finished in hard wearing black sparkle Altro with deeper side step and rear trims.

To add some neat touches and home comforts we added in a USB charge point, LED lighting throughout the roof, rear speakers to get in the groove and a reversing camera to help with parking this beauty!
